Progress measured in evidence, not dates.
Atarla is a solo-founder company building in the open at an early stage. This roadmap does not promise ship dates or percentages. It states the gate the work is currently trying to clear, and what would count as clearing it.
The four gates.
- Prototype gate: a Raspberry Pi 5 development prototype with external cooling exists and runs the core software. This gate is where the work stands today.
- Instrumented workflow gate: the web application and mobile MVP run a real workflow end to end with logging in place, so behaviour can be observed rather than assumed. The web app is in invite-only testing and the mobile MVP is built with Expo tooling.
- Field-learning gate: the software operates in a real environment with one early customer relationship informing what actually breaks, outside of what a founder can simulate alone.
- Productization gate: findings from the field-learning gate are converted into a hardened, documented, repeatable build. Nothing has crossed into this gate yet.
Why gates instead of dates.
A solo founder working on real hardware and a real, unnamed operating environment cannot honestly forecast a ship date. A gate can be checked against what has actually happened, and a date usually cannot.
When an item clears a gate, it will be recorded on the changelog with the date it happened, not the date it was hoped for.
What is not claimed.
This page does not commit to a launch date, a percentage complete, or a release order. No item on this roadmap is guaranteed to ship, and gates may be redefined as the work reveals what actually matters.
