A startup shaped by the problems it kept finding.

Atarla began in 2025 as Visible Seed and moved through consulting, POS software, and mobile development before converging on customer-owned AI infrastructure. Each iteration made the problem, and the company needed to solve it, more precise.

What exists today.

Working edge prototype

The current hardware prototype runs on a Raspberry Pi 5 with external cooling. It is a development system, not production hardware.

Invite-only web application

The software experience is being tested privately while workflows, permissions, and the product boundary are refined.

Bootstrapped startup

Founder Kevin Trinh has funded the work primarily through his own employment and is building from firsthand restaurant and local-business experience.

Formation in progress

An incorporation application has been submitted and remains pending. Completion will be stated only when confirmed.

How the idea converged.

The direction changed several times, but the underlying problem became more consistent with each attempt.

  1. Visible Seed begins

    The first version focused on helping local businesses access better technology and practical support.

  2. Consulting exposed a trust problem

    Tailored demonstrations and direct outreach showed that one-off services were difficult to trust and difficult for a solo founder to scale, especially for owners already disappointed by technology vendors.

  3. POS and mobile software made the work repeatable

    The product moved toward software connected to restaurant operations, including an Expo mobile application that reached an advanced state before the thesis expanded.

  4. Atarla restarts around owned intelligence

    The prior repositories were retired and the company restarted from a clean foundation around local-first compute, persistent context, bounded agents, and intentional cloud routing.

  5. Prototype, private testing, and evidence

    The work now combines a Raspberry Pi 5 prototype, invite-only software testing, customer learning, and an R&D plan designed to turn the architecture into measurable proof.

The company direction is simple to state.

Own the operating context.

Keep business-specific memory, policies, and workflows close to the business instead of treating them as an afterthought around a chat interface.

Bound the action.

Make agent roles, permissions, review points, and recovery paths explicit before automation reaches business operations.

Use outside compute intentionally.

Local first does not mean local only. External models can be routed in when quality, capacity, or specialization makes them useful.
