This page answers the questions people actually type, in the order they tend to ask them. Where the honest answer is 'not yet' or 'no price exists,' that is the answer.

What Atarla is.

  • What is Atarla? An early-stage, bootstrapped, solo-founder company building the control layer a business owns: it keeps the information the business authorizes and decides what its agents may do.
  • Is Atarla a chatbot? No. The app is built around reviewing and approving proposed agent actions and reading an audit trail, not a chat window.
  • Is Atarla a hardware company? No. Hardware, the planned Atarla Node, is one way to run the layer, not the definition of the company.
  • Who is behind it? A solo founder based in Houston. There is no team page beyond that today, and no named investor or accelerator relationship.

Hardware, connectivity, and hosting.

  • Do I need to buy hardware? No. There is no hardware for sale. A Raspberry Pi 5 development prototype exists as a research instrument, not a product.
  • Does it work offline? Local-first is a design intent under active testing, not a settled result. It is never accurate to say everything works offline.
  • Where does my data live? Wherever the layer is deployed: Atarla Cloud, a business's own infrastructure, or eventually an Atarla Node. That is a deployment choice, and location is described on the platform pages.
  • Can I self-host? Running the layer on a business's own infrastructure is part of the design intent. It is not yet packaged as a self-service self-hosting product.

Availability, cost, and openness.

  • Is it available? The web app is in invite-only testing and the mobile MVP is unreleased. Neither is generally available.
  • What does it cost? No pricing exists yet. Nothing on this site should be read as a price or a commercial term.
  • Is it open source? Not today. Atarla intends to publish interfaces, tools, and selected components openly as the architecture matures, which is a stated intent, not a licence commitment or a claim of being open source now.
  • Can Atarla be broken into? Any system can. Atarla treats attack surface as ongoing work, and does not offer a guarantee.
  • What exists today, and what is still being built? Today: an invite-only web app, a mobile MVP, the Raspberry Pi 5 prototype, and one early customer relationship. Still being built: the Node, Atarla Cloud as a managed offering, the browser extension, and most of the platform's governance and routing behavior described in the white paper.
  • How do I partner or contribute? Use the contact form. There is no formal partner program or open contribution process yet.
